La serie se ha convertido en un auténtico fenómeno de masas, y no solo entre el público al que está objetivamente dirigida, los niños de preescolar. También los padres que son «espectadores pasivos» y los fans de la animación se deshacen en alabanzas y críticas positivas hacia Bluey. Aunque en esto también ha tenido mucho que ver la difusión «boca a boca» a través de las redes sociales y la transmisión de la serie en streaming, en la plataforma Disney +.
“BLUEY” O LA IMPORTANCIA DE SER NIÑO
La serie está protagonizada por el personaje que presta su nombre al título. Bluey es una perrita azul de seis años, curiosa y llena de entusiasmo, que vive con sus padres y su hermana pequeña Bingo. La vida familiar y las relaciones entre estos personajes conforman el eje central de la serie, ya que, como suele ocurrir en la animación preescolar, esta retrata la vida cotidiana de los humanos a través de animales antropomórficos y cuquis.
Con esta premisa, Bluey elabora su propia tesis sobre la paternidad y la crianza contada con perretes. Y para ello no solo tiene en cuenta a sus pequeños espectadores, sino también a los niños grandes que, presumiblemente, también están viendo la serie en el sofá de casa. Bandit y Chilli, los papás de Bluey y Bingo, tienen un papel muy relevante y activo en cada uno de los episodios. No se limitan únicamente a participar y a acompañar a Bluey en sus juegos y aventuras, sino que sus propias decisiones y vicisitudes también forma una parte importante en la trama de la serie. En Bluey los adultos no son estrictamente los referentes del bien y del mal, sino que tienen dudas, se equivocan, y aprenden; y en cierta manera también crecen junto a la pequeña Bluey.
Y por supuesto, Bluey tiene inquietudes, reflexiones y peripecias propia de una niña de seis años, aunque también va creciendo conforme la serie avanza. Cada episodio es una historia autoconclusivas de 7 minutos de duración, pero pequeños elementos van cambiando y desarrollándose entre capítulo y capítulo. La serie nunca deja de ser un espacio seguro y divertido para toda la familia, pero en el que también caben el humor, la ironía o incluso el drama, como hemos visto en el penúltimo episodio de la tercera temporada.
¿EXISTEN LOS FINALES FELICES?
«The Sign» ha puesto de nuevo a Bluey en el centro de la conversación. Cuenta con una duración especial de 28 minutos, y llega directo a hacer un punto de inflexión en el desarrollo de la serie. En él asistimos a la esperada boda entre Rad y a Frisky, un romance que había ido evolucionando desde la segunda temporada. Pero aunque el enlace ocupa gran parte del capítulo y da lugar a divertidas situaciones muy marca de la casa, lo más interesante lo encontramos en la otra trama que conforma el episodio.
El capítulo anterior acababa revelando que la familia había puesto en venta su casa, mostrando un cartel de «SE VENDE» que se convierte en un icono cargado de simbolismo en el que se imprimen todos los anhelos de la familia. Bluey y Bingo destinan todos sus esfuerzos a quitarlo, para así evitar marcharse de su casa. Por otro lado, Bandit y Chilli tampoco están demasiado convencidos de su decisión, pero al no encontrar trabajo en su ciudad, parece ser la única manera de seguir adelante.
Haciendo uso de su habitual ironía y humor para sobrellevar la dramática incertidumbre, en este capítulo Bluey parece empezar a encaminarse a ser adulta, en cierta manera (¡Su madre ya la deja montarse en el asiento de delante del coche, nada menos!), pero la situación la sobrepasa por completo. «¿Entonces, es un final feliz o triste?», llega a preguntarse la perrita en un momento del episodio. «The Sign» acaba siendo un gran ejercicio reflexivo sobre los finales, las decisiones y el rumbo que debemos tomar en un futuro. Y desemboca en una gran moraleja a modo de conclusión: En realidad no hay finales completamente tristes o completamente felices. Todo final cierra un ciclo, pero también abre nuevas oportunidades.
